Quartz stone (Hajar Al-Marw) emerged as a defining element of traditional architecture, becoming an inseparable part of the region’s architectural identity.
What distinguishes Hajar Al-Marw in Asiri construction is its deep connection to cultural and social heritage.
Beyond being a building material, it was seen as a symbol of prestige—homes adorned with quartz were considered marks of status and refinement within the community.
The “Marw” design draws inspiration from this architectural heritage, reviving the timeless bond between man and nature, and between past and present.
Each piece is accompanied by a visual cultural booklet documenting the inspirational journey behind the Asir Collection, inviting the viewer to explore the landscapes, architecture, and artistic elements that shaped its visual identity.
The booklet features original photography and cultural storytelling inspired by traditional architecture, engraved patterns found on historic doors and windows, Al-Qatt Al-Asiri art, and the mountainous landscapes and valley stones of Asir that informed the collection’s design language.
Through this documentation, elements of Saudi heritage are transformed into contemporary hand-engraved and hand-painted works, making the booklet an essential part of the artistic experience accompanying every Herfah piece.
